If zero stars was possible, I would’ve selected that…. I honestly cannot stay silent about the horrible care my family received under Dr. Alia Rana… 1 — My mother suffered from debilitating headaches for years. She pleaded for testing, which Dr. Rana continuously brushed off, insisting it was “nothing.” Bloodwork done in 2017 revealed polycythemia—a serious blood disorder that significantly increases the risk of stroke or heart attack. Shockingly, this was flagged in her file, but NO ONE informed her. We only found out years later when a surgeon refused her knee surgery due to the high-risk nature of her condition. It was a resident doctor who finally noticed the results while doing a routine chart review. By then, it had progressed into polycythemia vera, a lifelong, high-risk condition. My mother now takes chemo pills and receives phlebotomies regularly—all preventable had she been treated when the results first came in. 2 —- My own experience: I suffered with a painful, golf-ball-sized Bartholin’s cyst for over a year in my early 20s. Dr. Rana refused to treat it, simply telling me to “sit in hot water.” It affected every aspect of my life—sitting, walking, working, intimacy. Out of desperation, I spent hundreds on traditional medicine before finally getting it drained by a gynecologist in Toronto. Something Dr. Rana could’ve done in minutes. It was traumatizing. 3 —- My sister was misdiagnosed when she had scabies. Dr. Rana told her it was “in her head” and prescribed her an unrelated and expensive ointment instead. The condition was quickly resolved when another doctor correctly identified and treated it. Three women in one family, misdiagnosed, ignored, and dismissed. I genuinely question how someone like this is licensed to practice medicine. Dr. Rana is no longer at Queenston Clinic—and frankly, I’m not surprised. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
